Inspired by a visit to the V&A this is a recreation of a Elsa Schiaparelli design from the 1940’s.

I used Janet Arnold’s ‘Patterns of Fashion 2’ to acquire the dress pattern and then scaled it up to the correct size.

I used satin stitch instead of the original goldwork and a range of pearl beads to replicate the embellishment. The garment features a draped back and side zip.
